Our physical therapists work with children and their families to help each child achieve and maintain mobility and function by maximizing his or her potential! Your child’s physical therapist will first work with the family to identify the child’s needs and the family’s concerns. Your physical therapist will also conduct an examination and evaluation of the child in the context of his or her daily routines and activities and presentation. This evaluation may include, but not be limited to, medical history, mobility, sensory and neuromotor development, use of assistive technology, muscle and joint function, strength and endurance, cardiopulmonary status, posture and balance. An appropriate plan of care will then be created by the therapist in collaboration with the child’s family, caregivers, and other involved healthcare providers. In some situations, your child may be referred to other therapy disciplines based on the clinical results of the evaluation.
Our pediatric physical therapy team have several certifications and specialized trainings in treatment methods such as: Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI), Universal Exercise Unit (UEU), TheraSuit, Myofascial Release, Idiopathic Toe-Walking, Dry-Needling, Kinesio-taping, Theratogs, Torticollis, and Aquatic Therapy!
